Leon Eckard

Leon Eckard is a German media artist, musician, and performer. He began playing the guitar at the age of six and studied jazz guitar under Heiner Rennebaum at the Robert-Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf in the Music and Media program. During his studies from 2015 to 2021, he specialized in the fields of visual music and music informatics under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling and Marcus Schmickler. Additionally, from 2019 to 2020, he studied animation and media art at the University of Barcelona. Since 2022, he has continued his studies at the University of the Arts Berlin in the Generative Art class led by Prof. Dr. Alberto de Campo and is a member of the S4NTP (Society For Nontrivial Pursuits) collective. His works and performances have been showcased in prestigious exhibitions and festivals worldwide, including Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, Teheran International Electronic Music Festival, New Now Festival, CTM Vorspiel, and xCoAx Conference.

Leon Eckards artistic work explores the connection between technology, the self, and the perspectives that arise from it. He work transcends boundaries between installation, performance, and generative art and music. In his works, Eckard playfully engages with perception, technology, and the human relationship to it. At the core lies the question of the duality between subjective and objective reality, and the ensuing question of self. Leon Eckard opens up a world of self-reflection and perception that illuminates our everyday reality in a new light and expands our imagination.
